A man has tragically lost his life in a double shooting incident that occurred on the south side of Indianapolis in the early hours of Tuesday. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
In the early hours of September 3rd, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were called to the scene of a shooting incident. The incident took place in the 4000 block of Independence Drive, which is located near the intersection of South Meridian Street and Hanna Avenue.
At approximately the same time, an individual entered Community Hospital South with a gunshot injury.
According to an IMPD spokesperson, the person involved in the incident was in a stable condition and was subsequently discharged from the hospital. Following their discharge, the victim was briefly detained by officers and later released by detectives.
According to the spokesperson, there is currently a belief that the incidents are connected.
