A man who is suspected of being involved in a series of auto thefts in Hamilton County was apprehended by the Fishers police.
In connection with an auto larceny case, Montez Beech, 22, of Indianapolis, also had an active warrant out of Marion County.
In the past few days, the Noblesville Police Department has reported the theft of numerous vehicles within its jurisdiction. The Hyundai sedan, which was blackened out, was observed in the Fishers area on Thursday.The vehicle was traced to 126th Street and Reynolds Drive by the police using Flock license plate cameras.
The drone was then employed by the officers to locate Beech, who was discovered to be asleep in the vehicle. The police made a “tactical approach” to the vehicle, and after that there were no further issues, they arrested the person.
Beech is currently being charged with preliminary offenses of larceny and auto theft (both felonies) as well as unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle (a misdemeanor). He is prohibited from possessing a firearm as a result of a prior felony conviction and is currently facing an additional allegation of unlawful carrying a handgun with a felony conviction.
The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final decision regarding charging in the case.
