Waterspouts were sighted over Lake Michigan on Saturday morning, according to reports.
The reports came from the Indiana Dunes National Park and the waters off New Buffalo, Michigan.
A video of the Indiana waterspout was captured and shared on the Great Lakes Weather and Climate Facebook page.
Photographer Mike Borns captured a mesmerizing video showing the rotation of a loosely formed waterspout as it made its way ashore and eventually dissipated along the dunes.
The International Centre for Waterspout Research had forecasted the occurrence of waterspouts over Lake Michigan during the weekend. This prediction was based on the presence of cooler air over warmer water and the arrival of a cold front.
