On the third day of classes, two students at Beech Grove High School found sophomore Justin Stewart being dragged and beaten in a closet.
Debbi Khanthamany, the boy’s mother, claimed that she started to shake after watching a video of the incident because she was so furious. She claimed that she was never told about the fight by the school. Rather, she was the one who had to contact the school after hearing about it from other parents.”I told you to take me to him as soon as I entered the school. They led me into a conference room where they had to open a door with the keys. She said, “He was sitting there by himself.
Khanthamany claims her son’s teacher reported him for disciplinary punishment even though he was the one who appeared to be the victim. He was not permitted to use his cellphone to call his mother, so she says the only thing he did wrong was leave the classroom to ask for assistance.
“You can see him getting kicked and getting hit in the back of the head on camera. Khanthamany stated, “They ought not to have shut him in by himself. Stewart experienced swelling in his left eye, and a slight concussion was determined by the medical professionals.
Beech Grove City Schools spokesperson Mitzi Garman declined to comment on whether Stewart or his assailants were disciplined, saying that “it would be inappropriate to discuss the details of individual student matters publicly.” “I can confirm that our administrative team handled the investigation promptly and that communications were handled in accordance with policy,” she continued.
Although Khanthamany stated that her son feels ashamed of the situation, she feels compelled to speak forward in order to stop it from happening to other people. She’s thinking of filing charges as well.According to Khanthamany, the fight took place on Friday.
Stewart, 15, is shown in the video being attacked by two lads, one of whom is seen kicking him as he lies on the ground. According to Khanthamany, the only assistance Stewart’s football teammate got during the experience came from a third kid who tried to step in.
“The knowledge that my child was not shielded… I thought someone ought to have been watching out for him. You can’t even hear the teacher speaking on the video,” the teacher claimed.
Khanthamany reported that Stewart stated the instructor was in the room but did nothing as a different student recorded the altercation.
The two lads who attacked her son, according to her, weren’t in the class; they just entered the room, pulled Stewart into a closet, and carried on with the attack. It was stated that one of the attackers was older.
