La Porte County to Host Food Giveaways

(The Food Bank of Northern Indiana has announced that it will be visiting multiple locations in the La Porte County area in the near future.)

Citizens Concerned for the Homeless is sponsoring a food giveaway at the Kingsford Heights Community Center on Monday from 10 am to noon, or until supplies run out. The distribution is expected to serve 200 households.

On Wednesday, 200 households will be served at the H.O.P.E. Building on McClelland Ave. in Michigan City, sponsored by the City of Michigan City for another exciting giveaway event.

On August 5, 2024, in LaPorte County, a significant event occurred.

  • From 10 a.m. to noon CT, or until supplies run out.
  • Location: The Kingsford Heights Community Center can be found at 515 Wayland Rd., Kingsford Heights, IN 46346.
  • Citizens Concerned for the Homeless is sponsoring this distribution, which aims to serve 200 households.

On August 7, 2024, in LaPorte County, an event took place.

  • From 10 in the morning until noon Central Time, or until the supplies run out.
  • The location for the event is the H.O.P.E. Building situated at 222 McClelland Ave., Michigan City, IN 46360.

  • Location: The event will take place at Starke County Fairgrounds, which is located at 400 Division St., Hamlet, IN 46532.
  • The Hardesty Foundation is the sponsor of this distribution, which aims to cater to the needs of 250 households.

On August 22, 2024, in Starke County, an event took place.

The offer is available from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. CT, or until supplies are exhausted. The USDA is providing this distribution to cater to 200 households.

Free, assorted food items are available for those in need of food assistance. The items are pre-boxed and pre-bagged and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. It is important to note that only one box or bag is available per household. Supplies are limited, so it is recommended to arrive early to ensure availability.

To receive your items, please remain in your vehicle, as distributions will be drive-through. Simply open your trunk and the items will be placed inside. If your trunk does not open, a designated area will be available for self-loading.
