A fatal shooting incident on the northeast side of Indianapolis has led to the arrest of a local man by the authorities.

Court records reveal that the suspect believed to be responsible for the homicide was identified by witnesses who assisted the police.

Nakyra McGee was found dead on the scene when IMPD received a call to the Apartments on Edgemere Court, just before 3:30 a.m. on July 13th.

Another man arrived at the hospital with gunshot injuries that were not life-threatening.

The suspect allegedly responsible for the homicide was identified by witnesses, as per court records.

According to court records this week, a witness tipped off IMPD detectives that the shooter could be found at a gas station on Arlington Avenue.

Michael Williams, 33, was swiftly apprehended by the authorities at the aforementioned establishment.

According to the affidavit, the suspect’s vehicle was found to contain both a handgun and marijuana. As a result, he is facing charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, as well as dealing marijuana.

At present, the accused is solely confronted with charges related to drug possession and possession of weapons. However, there are no charges of murder against him.

As of now, the investigation into the homicide is ongoing, and Williams is being held on a bond of $160,000.

Reverend James Jackson expressed that the message he wishes to convey is that they require assistance.

According to Reverend Jackson, the police require the cooperation of witnesses to resolve cases such as this one.

According to him, it is imperative for the community to actively participate in curbing violent crimes by speaking up and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.

Jackson emphasized the importance of sharing information to increase the clearance rates of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD). He believes that achieving peace requires a collective effort, and everyone must work together towards this goal. Therefore, he urges people to share any useful information that can help IMPD solve cases and bring justice to victims.

Williams was under probation when the shooting incident occurred. He had been convicted of a weapons charge the year before.

Williams refuted any involvement in the homicide and asserted that he was at home during the time of the shooting.
