Indianapolis Metropolitan police were called to the scene of a crash on Monday morning. However, their focus quickly shifted towards an investigation into a shooting.
Around 6:15 a.m., officers were sent to the intersection of 38th Street and Lafayette Road.
According to authorities, the incident initially began as a crash investigation, but it was soon revealed that one of the drivers involved had sustained gunshot wounds.
The man was transported to a local hospital, with police refraining from providing details about the severity of his injuries. They only mentioned that he is currently in stable condition.
The medics assessed the condition of the other driver and released them on the spot.
The police are currently working to establish the location of the first shooting. They are continuing their investigation to gather more information.
