According to the Michigan State Police, a tragic incident occurred on Monday evening as a 33-year-old man lost his life in a rollover crash on the Lodge Freeway.
A tragic incident occurred on the Lodge Freeway, near Glendale Avenue, around 10 p.m. The police arrived at the scene to find a man trapped inside his vehicle after a rollover crash. Despite being taken to the hospital, the man was pronounced dead.
There was a separate car accident on the freeway, which caused the left lane to be partially blocked. One of the drivers involved in the crash was attempting to redirect traffic away from the cars involved.
According to MSP, the driver attempting to navigate traffic observed the 33-year-old individual driving at a high speed. In an attempt to evade the approaching driver, the individual leaped over the wall. Consequently, the driver collided with the freeway wall and flipped their vehicle. Fortunately, no other individuals were harmed in the accident.
“We want to emphasize the importance of drivers remaining in their vehicles and promptly calling 911 in the event of a crash,” remarked F/Lt Mike Shaw regarding the incident. “If it’s possible to safely move your vehicle out of the travel lanes, please do so. This action will not impact the ongoing crash investigation. However, under no circumstances should you exit your car on the freeway.”
