According to authorities, a total of 15 bronze grave markers belonging to veterans have been reported as stolen, while one has been damaged.
According to the police, it was not disclosed whether any of the items were recovered, but they did mention that “additional evidence” was found at Wood’s residence when he was arrested.
La Porte County Police Captain Derek Allen expressed his hope that the recent arrests would bring peace and comfort to both deceased and living U.S. veterans. He emphasized the police force’s admiration for their service and extended his salute to them.
