Local counties have recently implemented burn bans due to the prevailing hot and dry weather conditions in the region.

In Indiana, two counties, Posey County and Warrick County, have implemented bans on open burning. The officials in these communities have stated that the bans will be reviewed after one week and extended if needed.

In Union County, Kentucky, officials have also implemented a prohibition on open burning.
