Clymer Borough Police have filed charges against a man from the local area for obstructing the law or other governmental functions, engaging in disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. These charges stem from an incident that occurred during the recent flood.
On August 9th, during a state of emergency, the police received a call regarding a man floating on an inner tube in the water at the 500 block of Sherman Street. The individual in question was Ricky Wilcox, a 39-year-old. Despite the police’s order to exit the water, he refused to cooperate. Consequently, the officers were forced to physically apprehend him, leading to a struggle that resulted in Wilcox being taken to the ground.
According to the police, Wilcox’s actions posed an unnecessary risk to the safety of first responders. Charges have been filed through District Judge Christopher Welch’s office.
