According to the authorities, a drunk driver crashed through the fence of a graveyard in Michigan City.
The occurrence took place around 9 p.m. on June 22, precisely at Greenwood Cemetery.
In Michigan City, a car driven by Debra Underwood, 35, crashed through the north side fence of a cemetery and caused damage to a grave marker, according to the local police.
Someone saw her sprinting from the vehicle and heading towards her residence on Cloud Street.
Upon arrival, the authorities discovered her in the enclosed patio of the house. She had sustained injuries from the crash, which resulted in blood on her arm and face.
According to reports, Underwood was found with fentanyl and oxycodone in her possession at the La Porte County Jail, leading to suspicions of drug use.
The charges against Underwood comprise possession of a narcotic drug at a Level 5 felony, cemetery mischief at a Level 5 felony, operating while intoxicated at a Class A misdemeanor, and leaving the scene of an accident at a Class B misdemeanor.
