A man was fatally shot on Thursday night in the east side of Indianapolis, as reported by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
At approximately 8:12 p.m. on Thursday, officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were dispatched to the 3400 block of North Leland Avenue in response to a shooting incident. This residential area is situated on the city’s east side. Upon arrival, the officers discovered a man who had sustained gunshot wounds.
The man was rushed to a nearby hospital in a critical condition and unfortunately passed away later on.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the deceased individual as Michael Edwards, a 57-year-old man.
