The motive behind the shooting in Michigan City, which claimed the lives of Travis Pennington, 35, and Kiara Hootman, 22, has been identified as revenge.
Armann Johnson, aged 26, stands accused of committing the murders. The victims, Amanda Dunlap, Robert Pennington, and Timothy Armstrong, were all former employees of Hearthside Food Solutions. However, it is worth noting that Johnson and Pennington had been terminated from their positions prior to the incident.
According to WEBT, Johnson had a short and tumultuous relationship with Hootman, which ultimately led her to move in with Pennington due to fear.
Pennington suffered gunshot wounds to his head and neck, while Hootman was injured in his arm and back.
Johnson was discovered using a license plate reader and is currently in custody without bail. A court hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday.
