A tragic incident occurred in Anderson, Indiana, as a single-engine plane crashed in a cornfield on Friday. The plane, which was traveling from Iowa to Indiana, unfortunately claimed the lives of all the individuals on board, according to authorities.
The plane took off from Fort Dodge, Iowa, shortly after 6:45 a.m. and was expected to arrive at Anderson Municipal Airport around 9:55 a.m. Unfortunately, it crashed into a nearby cornfield, as confirmed by Capt. Darwin Dwiggins of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
According to Dwiggins, the plane made an excessively high approach during its initial arrival at the Anderson airport.
“They flew at an altitude that was deemed too high. As a result, they received instructions to redirect their course and attempt another approach.”
According to a preliminary statement from the Federal Aviation Administration, the Piper PA-46 had four individuals on board. Unfortunately, Dwiggins confirmed that there were no survivors.
The National Transportation Safety Board, the organization in charge of investigating the crash, has stated that the plane went down “under unknown circumstances.” On Friday evening, an investigator from the NTSB was scheduled to arrive at the crash site to document the scene and conduct an examination of the aircraft.
