An Oakland County woman struck it big with a lottery ticket she purchased at a Meijer gas station, winning a whopping $1 million.
The woman, who is 40 years old, purchased a Hamilton instant game ticket from the Meijer gas station located at 1703 Haggerty Highway in Commerce Township.
“We love playing instant tickets,” she exclaimed. “So, when we scratched off our Hamilton ticket and discovered that we had won $1 million, we were overjoyed! We always had a gut feeling that someday we would hit the jackpot, and it’s truly a blessing that our dream has finally come true.”
The lucky winner made her way to Michigan Lottery headquarters to collect her prize money and made the decision to keep her identity a secret.
She opted for a lump sum of $693,000 instead of annual payments. Her immediate plans include purchasing a new car, while the remaining amount will be saved for the future.
