A single-car crash resulted in the discovery of an intoxicated guy in Michigan City. At about six in the morning on Friday, first responders were summoned to Johnson Road and 500 West.

Romell Hickmon, 31, sideswiped a utility pole in his 2005 BMW sport utility vehicle, according to the investigation, and the car came to rest roughly 50 yards into a bean field, according to La Porte County Police.

Hickmon, according to the police, was unable to provide a convincing account of how the accident occurred.

According to the police, Hickmon lost his balance during a field sobriety test, asked the officer if he was going to make him dance, and then began to dance.

After being transferred to Northwest Health, a blood sample obtained from him indicated that his blood alcohol content was allegedly 210.

Operating while drunk is a Class A misdemeanor, carrying a maximum one-year jail sentence.
