Law enforcement officials are cautioning individuals to exercise extreme caution when using ATMs in Michigan due to a new crime trend.

I just found out about a term called ‘Jugging’ and it’s surprising how it’s becoming a new crime trend. The FBI has described it as follows:

Jugging refers to a crime in which a suspect, or group of suspects, targets customers believed to have large amounts of cash. The perpetrators either rob customers while in the parking lot of a bank, credit union, or ATM or follow them to their next location.

In the first week of July, the city of Baltimore experienced 21 cases of jugging, prompting the FBI to issue a warning about this crime. Jugging is not limited to Maryland or Washington DC and is becoming a widespread issue across the nation. As a result, law enforcement officials are urging citizens to exercise caution and be more vigilant of their surroundings when visiting banks or using ATMs.

The FBI has recently issued a warning about a criminal activity known as “jugging”. This is a type of crime in which criminals target individuals who have just left a bank or an ATM with a large sum of cash. The criminals then follow the victim to their next destination and rob them of their cash or valuables.

The FBI advises people to be cautious, aware of their surroundings, and to not carry large sums of cash in public. They also recommend using a drive-thru ATM or going inside the bank to conduct transactions to avoid becoming a victim of jugging.
