Around 12:50 a.m., officers received a report of a shooting at the 6600 block of Sunbury Drive and were dispatched to the scene.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported that gunshots awakened the daughter while she and her mother were sleeping. She asked her mother if she had heard the shots, but her mother said she had not.
She took herself to a hospital in Danville, where the police found her.
Authorities are currently investigating the shooting incident.
