In Lake Michigan, the search for a missing teenage boy continues on Wednesday. The boy is yet to be found in Beverly Shores, Indiana.
On Tuesday afternoon, a 17-year-old boy from Eagan, Minnesota, went missing near Beverly Shores. Unfortunately, crews have stated that the mission has now become a recovery operation.
At approximately 2:10 p.m., emergency services were summoned to the beach, where they found two swimmers in distress and a helpful bystander who required medical attention. As per the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR), all three individuals were transported to a hospital in stable condition.
After conducting an investigation, responders have confirmed that a third swimmer cannot be accounted for and was last spotted 300 feet away from the shore.
The search for the missing person in Indiana proved to be challenging, as both drone and shore-based searches were unsuccessful on Tuesday. Despite this setback, the Beverly Shores Fire Department persevered and continued their search throughout the night on ATVs.
Conservation officers from the DNR will continue their search on Wednesday morning for a 17-year-old who went missing.
Around 5 p.m., the area near Beverly Shores was being searched by crews, as seen in footage captured by Chopper 7.
According to officials, hazardous water conditions initially hampered the search for the missing person. About an hour before the teenager disappeared, we could observe the rough and high waves.
