A man from Johnstown who is accused of inappropriately touching a child is scheduled to appear in court today as his trial begins.
Indiana Borough Police have charged 44-year-old Douglas Hitchens with corruption of minors, indecent assault of an individual under the age of 13, and indecent assault. The investigation into these incidents began in August of 2019, after Children and Youth Services alerted the police. It was reported that Hitchens engaged in inappropriate touching with an individual under the age of 13 at an apartment located in the 700 block of Philadelphia Street.
On September 26th of last year, he withdrew his initial guilty pleas.
