On Saturday, two teenagers, aged 17 and 16, were taken into police custody for their suspected involvement in a shooting incident that occurred in Indianapolis.
At around 4:30 a.m., the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were conducting their patrol in the 300 block of North Sherman Drive when they heard gunshots being fired within the vicinity.
As the officers were on duty, they noticed a blue sedan speeding down Sherman Drive towards the south.
Upon suspecting the vehicle’s involvement in the shots fired, the officers made an attempt to initiate a traffic stop.
The vehicle refused to stop, prompting a vehicle pursuit to ensue.
According to the authorities, the car continued driving for a short distance before the law enforcement officers utilized a tire deflation device, ultimately putting an end to the chase in a secure manner.
Authorities apprehended both teenagers, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old male, who were inside the car.

Upon conducting a search based on probable cause, law enforcement officers discovered a firearm equipped with a machine gun conversion device inside the vehicle. Additionally, they found a rifle in the vehicle that lacked a serial number.
Officers initially heard the automatic gun fire in an alley where shell casings were subsequently discovered.
Law enforcement arrested the vehicle’s driver on charges of resisting arrest, possessing a deadly weapon with criminal recklessness, unlawfully possessing a firearm, and having a machine gun in possession.
Authorities apprehended the passenger for possessing a firearm that posed a serious threat and for also possessing a machine gun.
