IMPD is currently investigating a car crash that occurred during a chase, involving two juveniles. The pursuit came to an end in front of the Indiana State Fairgrounds on Sunday morning.

Around 11:30 a.m. on August 18, IMPD officers initiated a pursuit of a suspect vehicle involved in a carjacking investigation. The car refused to comply with police instructions and fled, prompting the chase.

An officer successfully executed a PIT maneuver during the pursuit, causing the suspect’s car to overturn at the intersection of 38th Street and North College Avenue..

Two juveniles who were inside the car were apprehended and transported to a nearby hospital, where they received medical attention for their minor injuries. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), one of the juveniles will face arrest for attempting to evade police in a vehicle. Additionally, law enforcement officials have confirmed the discovery of a weapon at the crash site.

The police are currently investigating this incident.

The crash occurred on the last day of the 2024 Indiana State Fair.
