IMPD is currently investigating a man’s death, which is being treated as a homicide. The incident occurred early Saturday morning on the east side of Indianapolis. The victim was discovered inside a crashed car, where he had suffered critical gunshot wounds.

In the early hours of August 10th, around 1:30 a.m., officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were dispatched to the 100 block of Jefferson Avenue, located near the intersection of East Washington Street and North State Avenue. The call was in response to a reported crash at the scene.

Upon the arrival of the police, they discovered a man trapped inside the wreckage of the vehicle. In their efforts to extract him from the car, it became apparent that the man had sustained a gunshot wound.

The coroner’s office is currently investigating the precise manner and cause of Serrano’s death.
