A tragic incident happened in Indianapolis when a man lost his life while crossing a street on the northwest side. The incident took place on Monday night and the man unfortunately succumbed to his injuries early Tuesday morning, according to the Indianapolis police.
Around 9:45 p.m. on Monday, there was an accident at the intersection of Georgetown Road and Cross Creek Drive. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department received a report of a crash with injuries and immediately dispatched officers to the scene.
Just north of West 56th Street, you’ll find the Woods of Eagle Creek apartments.
When they arrived, they found a victim of a blue Kia SUV. Swiftly, he was transported to a hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries a few hours thereafter.
According to investigators, the Kia struck the man as it made a southbound turn from Cross Creek Drive onto Georgetown Road.
According to the police, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the detectives. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) has stated that they do not think alcohol played a role in the incident.
